Tout d’abord, un inliner est placé dans la cuve. En raccordant une tête de soutirage à l’inliner, celui-ci peut être rempli directement avec de la bière. À cette fin, l’unité de perçage est reliée à un tuyau de remplissage, par exemple depuis un camion à bière. Pendant le remplissage de l’inliner, l’air est expulsé de la cuve à bière via la soupape de sécurité munie d’un régulateur de pression à l’avant de la cuve. Lorsque l’inliner est rempli, le régulateur de pression de la soupape de sécurité est utilisé pour injecter de l’air comprimé dans la cuve. Grâce à cet air comprimé, la bière contenue dans l’inliner reste sous pression et est poussée hors de la cuve pendant le service. La bière quitte la cuve via l’unité de perçage reliée à une python, elle-même connectée au bar. Les inliners sont fabriqués en matériau LLDPE. Ce matériau est spécialement certifié pour la conservation des aliments et des boissons.
